Being sustainable at TIM
Being sustainable at TIM
The expectations of the stakeholders of a TLC operator centre around the reliability, innovativeness, coverage and ubiquity of the network. TIM plays a significant role in the countries it operates in by virtue of the increasing importance of communication technologies for people’s lives and for the economic and social development of communities. [G4-2] The Group’s economic contribution in the countries where it operates is described in theTIM Group chapter, while the social aspects are reported in the Digitisation, connectivity and social innovation chapter. A sustainable company has a duty to do everything it can to reduce its environmental footprint: TIM takes many measures described in detail in the Environmental Protection chapter.
Finally, from a social perspective, the Group’s operations are not carried out in high risk countries, and in any case Telecom ensures respect for social and Human Rights through the value chain (see Human Rights Policy and People in TIM).
